Kenji Choo, Academic Director/Senior Lecturer

As M.A.D. School’s Academic Director, Kenji has accumulated more than 10 years of professional teaching experience as a design educator and 20 years of relevant job experiences as a creative practitioner in the graphic design, branding, advertising, packaging, publishing and printing industries.  


Kenji graduated with a distinction in Master of Design from Curtin University of Technology, Australia, in 2003 and received a year of professional packaging design training from Japan in 1991.


As a design educator, Kenji shows keen interest in his students’ learning, shares beyond information and knowledge while engaging his students in design thinking, critical thinking, creative problem solving and cultivating active learning. He plays a critical role in recognising and nurturing the many talents of his students to maximise their creative potential.


With Kenji’s passion for teaching, mentorship and engagement with his students over the last few years, he has personally nurtured and groomed many successful design practitioners and designpreneurs. To date, his past students have won more than 100 local and international awards and recognition from Singapore, Germany, Canada, United Kingdom and America.


Kenji believes that every student has the potential to be a successful designer if they have the right attitude and aptitude in their learning. His ultimate objective as a design educator is to ensure all of his graduating students are industry-ready and relevant for the competitive marketplace.

Angela Ng, Associate Lecturer

Talent Development & Management Consultant/Trainer ACTA, NLP & Positive Psychology Coaching certified

Angela has 20 years of corporate experience in the AdMarcom industry. She held leadership positions for over a decade. Her experience spanned across the world, having worked with many Fortune500 companies from different industries. She held APAC regional leadership roles since 2003 and was in China from 2005-2013. While in China, she helped MNC Ad Networks started agencies and delivered over 600% business growth in the agency business that she headed up. As such, she was one of the finalists for 2011 Australia China Alumni Awards for ‘Women In Leadership.


Driven by passion, Angela now takes her corporate leadership experience to deploy it fully to the area of learning and development. She provides consultation to leadership development and management and she is also a Resilience Trainer using Positive Psychology approach to help people and businesses become more resilient.

Robert Gaxiola, Visiting Lecturer

Founder, Chief Creative Officer, ManghamGaxiola mcgarrybowen (MGMB)

Gax is the creative half of breakaway agency Mangham/Gaxiola. The former Ogilvy Executive Creative Director left his post in 2012 to start his own shop with a handful of staff and one client. The agency later entered into a purchase agreement with the Dentsu Aegis Network in 2015 and has since added the name mcgarrybowen to their names on the door. Clients Include: AMEX, INTEL, Fidelity, Expedia, Hyundai and M1.


A graduate of the prestigious ArtCenter, College of Design the native Californian has been in Singapore for nearly twenty years. During that time, he’s worked as the Executive Creative Director for Bates, Batey, FCB and Ogilvy. He only left Singapore once to work at famed Goodby Silverstein and Partners in San Francisco.


His work has garnered international medals in Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show and Effies. Locally he’s won many agency honours, including two back-to-back Grand Prix’s in the Straits Times Ink Awards. He’s also had the honour of being named as the first winner of the Creative Director of the Year Award by the IAS. The last two awards of note were two D&AD Yellow Pencils.

Shei Wah, Associate Lecturer

Managing Director, NEO360 Digital

As Managing Director of digital agency NEO360, Shei Wah aims to establish the agency in all of the world’s major cities. Even as he works toward this goal, Shei Wah also dreams of his children’s future happiness and unwinds by doing callisthenics with his former school buddies three times a week.


A mechanical engineer by training who graduated from the Nanyang Technological University and with over 15 years of experience working in Start-Ups, SMEs and MNCs, he has also driven sales revenue and leads across the Asia Pacific region. Shei Wah was one of the SEO Speakers at the first Search Engine Strategies Conference 2011 held in Singapore.

Chelsea Chen, Associate Lecturer

Chelsea is currently with UOB TMRW Digital as the VP, Design Lead. Before this, she was working with PayPal as the UX Lead in APAC and Citibank on their FinTech in the APC region.

She has a strong record of designing transformative user experiences at organizations across various industries including government, financial institutions, and education. Designing to her is about weaving intention into a seamless, transcendent experience.

Daniel Ng, Associate Lecturer

Spending more than 25 years in senior marketing positions, Daniel has in-depth knowledge on B2B marketing on both traditional and digital platforms for companies with the like of IBM, Microsoft, Cloudera, CommVault Systems, etc.


Currently the Senior Director of Marketing for Cloudera APAC, Daniel's role includes end-to-end marketing; from strategy development to execution, encompassing RTMs of channels and direct in the enterprise and SMB space, championing GTM strategies including traditional and digital approaches.

Hendry Goh, Associate Lecturer

Graduated with a Masters of Science in Computing and Information Systems from the National University of Singapore, Hendry's current edu-passion lies in Hackalogy - a digital vehicle whose mission is to equip business owners with digital skills to grow their business and developing new agency business owners.

As Executive Creative Director, he established Shopper Marketing capabilities in Saatchi X Regional, leading and growing the Guangzhou agency and adding the regional ECD role to his responsibilities as a member of the Global Leadership Committee. He led the agency to work on Procter & Gamble’s FMCG clients to develop their shopper-based strategy across GC and regional markets.


Jason’s blend of immersive brand experience and cross-disciplinary approach has been a trademark of his career. Jason is a strong believer towards inspiring and mentoring young creative minds, he tutored students for Bachelor of Design (Multimedia) and Master of Design (Multimedia) at Raffles College of Higher Education, Singapore. He was also a volunteer at Equestrian Riding for the Disabled Association of Singapore.

Yasmine Khater, Associate Lecturer

Yasmine has always had the vision to make the world a better place. She is obsessed with sales and why people hold back from selling and communicating their big ideas to create the impact they desire.


During her studies in psychology and integrated marketing communication at American University of Cairo, she directed the expansion of the world’s largest student organization AIESEC into Egypt and the Middle East. Her contribution made her one of the youngest recipients of AIESEC’s Top 40 Under 40”.


Her career then kicked off coordinating multi-million dollar events, before she moved into helping lay the framework for a Fortune 500 company’s buyout of GE Plastics. Also passionate about social impact and empowerment, she has helped raise over $50,000 to support women entrepreneurs in East Timor by competing in the world’s toughest mountain bike race and coordinating fundraising efforts.

Hamzah Alsagoff, Associate Lecturer

Hamzah is a passionate achiever with over twenty years of marketing communication convergence skills and experience that he willingly loves to impart and share. He has a breath of through-the-lines 360 strategic and hands-on communication knowledge and exposure from having worked with boutique, mid-size and large agencies including CR & Grey, Wunderman, O2 Advertising and Section.


He specialises in areas such as strategic planning, leading & working directly as a co-brand custodian in marketing brands and products in a diverse range of categories such as FMCG, retail, IT, cosmetics, property as well as automobile. Among notable works, he is known for having helped strategised and crafted for Nippon Paint, with its sumo brand icon, to beat Dulux ICI to its number one spot as a market leader for over 20 years.


While he launched Gatorade and Snapple in Singapore, he was also part of the team that created local iconic brands like Lorenzo, SK Jewellery and Moneymax. Furthermore, he was also instrumental in leading O2 Advertising's unusual 18-year brand and communication co-brand custodial partnership role for the Estee Lauder Companies' cosmetics brands which include Estee Lauder, Clinique, M.A.C, Bobbi Brown, La Mer and Lab Series for Men. Alastair Leo Tan, Associate Lecturer

With over 25 years of experience as a marketer, advertising and communications specialist, Alastair has worked in small, medium and multinational advertising, branding and communication agencies. From copywriting to the management of creative and client services teams, his varied roles and responsibilities has provided him with a solid foundation in this fast-paced and fast-changing industry. As a well-rounded and multi-faceted communication & brand specialist, his capabilities also include strategic planning, brand and agency management.  


His wealth of experience is also backed by numerous educational credentials. Alastair holds a Master of Social Science (Professional Counselling) from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia and is a Certified Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). He is also an ICI certified Executive & Life Coach. Following that, Alastair majored in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is also trained in other modalities such as Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Redecision Therapy, Choice Theory/Reality Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.

Colin Lee, Associate Lecturer

Colin Lee’s 1st foray into graphic design was as a freelance designer in 2003; designing brochures and flyers. That was also when his love for photography developed and he started honing his skills for photography while on his job assignments. After that, he made a commitment to delve into the industry, accepting a wide range of assignments and increasing the breadth of his experience. At the same time, he enrolled himself into Inspiration Design International Where he graduated with a Diploma (High Distinction). Colin is extremely proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash and Freehand in the Mac environment and an equally competent sharpshooter.

Barry Seah, Associate Lecturer

Barry is a member of the professional photographers association (singapore). As a lead photographer in commercial and photography works, he is featured as one of the Canon EOS Professionals in commercial photography, and was also the official photographer for Singapore Manhunt 2013, covering the event shots and portraits of the winners/sponsors. With his knowledge in photography equipment in and out of the studio, Barry also conducts tutorial workshops on hands on photography, as well as branding talks.

Jael Chng, Associate Lecturer

Being future-oriented and grounded in the present, Jael is always developing individuals, teams and organisations for now and the future. As a creative-analytic, she blends innovation and pragmatism to catalyse sustainable positive change.


Jael is the founder of ‘My Working Title’ that empowers millennials to advance their careers by developing their own career strategies. She runs her own independent Design Thinking, Brand Communication consulting practice and teaches Advertising and PR at a tertiary level.


Over the last 15 years, Jael has advised MNC, Government and Education clients such as Unilever, P&G, HP, Government Technology Agency and Ngee Ann Polytechnic on Integrated Marketing Communication, Design Thinking and Leadership Development. She also harnessed social technology for social good as Head of Social at Halogen Foundation Singapore. She is a pioneer in Digital Public Relations: a forerunner in social media marketing.

Teo Chai Guan, Associate Lecturer

Teo officially stepped into the colourful world of advertising in 1997. As a commercial photographer, he specialises in producing conceptual work consisting of still life, portrait, lifestyle and landscape, amongst other genres. His clients include agencies and companies located in Singapore as well as regionally.

In the ever-changing media landscape, Teo has proven his ability to stay versatile through his expertise in image composition, crafting light, and in creating the mood of the image. His efforts have gained him many clients’ compliments and land him numerous international awards. Some of these awards include Cannes, D&AD, One Show, CA, Clio and Adfest.

Besides commercial photography, Teo also actively pursue his other major interest, Fine Arts Photography. His pursuits in the ne arts arena have proven to be a tremendous force, driving him to another level of breakthrough in photography.


Jayaprakash Bojan, Associate Lecturer

National Geographic Award winning Nature and wildlife photographer

After 18 years in the corporate world, Jayaprakash Bojan decided to quit and pursue his passion for travel and nature/wildlife photography. He is the grand prize title winner of the National Geographic nature photographer of the year 2017, Winner of the Singapore wildlife photographer of the year 2017 and several other international awards over the years.


He has also been published by Natgeo, BBC and several other international magazines, He has also featured in a live TV interview with BBC talking about his award-winning images. His passion for nature and wildlife photography has also led him to work on conservation and he currently works with Orangutan Allianze, an NGO that creates awareness on the plight of the orang-utans and habitat destruction in Borneo.

Lee Hwee Geng, Mark, Associate Lecturer

A dedicated and passionate individual, Mark has been in the photography scene for over 7 years. Originally working in an accounting rm, he started his photography journey a decade back and fell in love since.

To pursue a career in photography, he gave up on a high-income job and dive into photography by landing himself a photography assistant role in a local giant publishing house – Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) Magazines. He built a solid foundation as an assistant and eventually taking on shoots without the need of supervision for titles such as Nuyou, Her World, Home & Décor, The Peak, etc.


An active learner, Mark went on to another local media powerhouse, Mediacorp, and gained valuable insights on the differences in editorial shoots. During his tenure as an in-house photographer, he is exposed to many opportunities and build a wide spectrum of portfolio ranging from food, fashion to portraits, local and regional celebrities and magazine covers. His effort is visible on 8 Days, i-Weekly, Motherhood and many other titles.

At the same time, he explored various photography style and crafted his own creative style. While his interests lie in dark and edgy creative direction, his editorial photography background has trained him to be a versatile photographer, who is able to take on and digest complex brief that ts the shooting requirement. To hone his skills further, he left editorial photography in exchange for a short stint in commercial photography at a photography production house, A Pixels. The experience further strengthen his ability to work on branded content. Armed with an inquisitive mind, Mark took the leap of faith and venture into freelance photography in pursuit of his photography career.


Cristobal Robert Hector Ruiz, Associate Lecturer

Robert is a creative technical ideator who uses current technology to create meaningful media. Robert has 12 years of experience in the creative industry from web to print design and most recently, video. He worked with Southeast Asian-based organisations such as International Worship Institute Asia, Asian for Christ Movement, (AMEMA) Asia, Middle East, Micronesia & African region of his home church, Huper International, Malaya Kids Ministries, JIL Church Worldwide, ONE Singapore and also worked with US-based organization Raise Up Children Against Poverty.


Moreover, he was also working on his own brand, Bread5 Studio, ever since he moved to Singapore in 2007. He then took on the position of Project Executive in Turquoise before moving to Myles & More. He was then exposed to story-centric corporate videos and has managed projects such as The Bible Society of Singapore, ARPC Documentary, Our Better World and corporate videos for SMRT, Standard Chartered & OCBC. He was recently named top 15 finalist of Our Good Story Asia competition in Singapore. Robert also does a lot of freelancing on the side, including design, photography and conducting workshops for video and music-related topics.

Christina Teo, Associate Lecturer

Christina is an experienced consultant, trainer and coach with solid senior executive management experience.  Christina brings with her more than 25 years of executive management, marketing, business and human development in the IT, Internet, mobile, fashion and skincare industry. She has an extensive track record in developing regional strategies and tracking market developments, with a deep understanding of the markets and business models of consumer IT and large enterprise solutions; mobile products, as well as fashion and skincare retail.



Christina’s last corporate portfolio was as the Chief Marketing Officer of Hong Kong’s 2nd largest mobile service provider, CSL Limited, leading a team of 90 and directly accountable for selected consumer businesses contributing to 40% of the company’s total revenue – namely the devices and pre-paid business and directly responsible for pricing and marketing of all consumer products and services as well as supporting the marketing of B2B corporate services


Consulting for UK-based BrandLearning, she engages with large corporates in consumer and pharmaceuticals to facilitate building in-house marketing capabilities. As a licensed Master Practitioner, she conducts training workshops in leadership excellence, negotiation, and sales/marketing using Neuro-Linguistic programming (NLP) and Everything DiSC tools. In the last two years, she has been involved in mentoring start-ups as well.

Eugene M Chen, Associate Lecturer

Eugene M Chen has over 13 years of professional experience as Creative Director at various creative agencies. He currently runs his own boutique creative consultancy Elefant and is an associate creative director at RBW Advertising. Over the years he has developed numerous brand identity and systems as well as branding and marketing campaigns. Some projects and clients include the inaugural Asian Youth Games held in Singapore, SIA, Bintan Resorts, Citibank, NTUC Club, Li-Ning Singapore Open, Yeos, The Select Group & Sorci-age by Wacoal.


Eugene holds a MA in Communication Management, a BSc Degree and a Cambridge Diploma for Teachers and Trainers.

Ike Anand, Associate Lecturer

Ike has been working through-the-line as Creative Director and Sr Creative for integrated agencies in Sydney, London and Singapore. His agency experience includes the likes of Ogilvy, DDB, Euro RSCG, Sapient Nitro, Iris, TPG, Squake, Maverick, Donor Cardwell Hawkins, etc.


His clients include NTUC Insurance, HSBC, Standard Chartered, Intel, Dell, Hewlett Packard, Nokia, Vodafone, Sony, Sony Ericsson, Discovery, Unilever (Axe, Dove, Sunsilk), Reckitts Benckiser, Emirates, Audi, Toyota, Hino, Lexus, Hennessy-Moet, Jack Daniel’s, BlackBerry, Dewar’s, Bacardi-Martini.


Like most creatives, Ike wishes he could clone himself in order to juggle briefs and meet deadlines. But when he does get some spare time, he is to be found in the gym. Or scuffing up the sand on a beach. Or mooning on his saxophone trying to become a one-hit wonder, who captured the world's zeitgeist in that one-song, and who retired on the earnings from that one-moment of perfection.

Adrian Koh, Associate Lecturer

Adrian Koh is the Co-founder and Principal Consultant at Branch, a business consultancy working with fast-growing startups and SMEs. With more than 10 years of experience in marketing, public relations, and business development, Adrian has developed award-winning campaigns for both MNCs and SMEs alike. Moreover, he is also a crowdfunding and marketing advisor for DBS BusinessClass, a regional business network run by Asia’s largest bank.


Other than that, Adrian has also been part of award-winning teams in Evernote, Waggener Edstrom, FundedByMe, Djenee, and the Ministry of Defence. To date, Adrian has worked in international markets, and have managed extended teams in India, Korea, South-East Asia, Australia, and Taiwan. 

Leonard Wee, Associate Lecturer

Illustrator, Visual Artist

Leonard Wee is an active visual arts practitioner on both traditional and digital platforms. He has worked alongside various visual artists and has also shown his work in the galleries of New York. Having based his practice in the local landscape today, he is working towards both a solo and group show in Singapore.


Other than that, he is also a DesignSingapore Scholar who graduated from the School of Visual Arts with honours in Illustration. A firm believer that great imagery is a convergence of intellect, heart and skill, his interest lies in what it means and takes to make interesting and meaningful imagery as a creative in today’s time.​

Vivienne Koh, Associate Lecturer

Having come from an extremely fluid background - sometimes traversing the fourth dimension - Vivienne started as a freelance creative back in the days when the Internet was a brand shiny new toy for the public in Singapore, in the long-gone days at the turn of the millennium.


Since then, she’s taken on multiple roles across the creative industries, including designing experiences for the users of the State Library of Queensland, Australia, as well as teaching in her alma mater, Queensland University of Technology. With almost 2 decades of experience working in various fields, she's come to the conclusion that it is high-time she gathered her human resources and start her own outfit.

Mr Muhammad Hairul, graduated from Loughborough University with an honours in Graphic Communication. He espouses the belief that graphic design is about visual problem solving, and meeting the needs of the client. He will not teach students how to make something look cool, he will, however, teach the students how to sell a product or an idea visually in a captivating way. Mr Hairul intends to compel students to understand the heavy responsibility of the designer to do justice towards their design, their passion and most importantly to themselves.

Low Siew Thiam, Associate Lecturer

Siew Thiam began a new career in business education in 1998 after handing over to his sons, operations of Homestead Furniture Pte Ltd which he had built to be the third largest furniture retailer in Singapore. His first lecturing assignment in 1998, was with the Singapore Institute of Management where he conducted lectures in Cross-Cultural Management for students from the Copenhagen Business School who came to Singapore for their summer school programme. In 2000, he was appointed a part-time lecturer by National University of Singapore for the Human Resource Unit of the NUS Business School. Siew Thiam taught every year at NUS HRM Unit until 2009. Siew Thiam has also taught for the University of Wales in Corporate Strategy and International Business at MBA level for UOW’s partnership programme with MDIS. He has also been a tutor for the Manchester Business School MBA programme. Overseas, Siew Thiam has lectured every year since 2000 for the Asian Institute of Technology in both Thailand and Vietnam.


In terms of executive training, Siew Thiam has conducted many such courses in Singapore, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Thailand. He has also been a guest lecturer for INSEAD (at both their Singapore and Fontainebleu campuses), Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) and Essec Business School (Singapore campus). He holds appointments as a member of the Advisory Board of the Asian Institute of Technology Extension and of Hoa Sen University in Ho Chi Minh City. He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of International Business Ethics published by the Centre for International Business Ethics of the University of International Business and Economics based in Beijing.


Before he went into education, Siew Thiam has had an extensive career in both executive life and as an entrepreneur. He first started work as a trainee journalist then went on to corporate life where he worked for a global corporation (Shell Eastern as HR Manager), a national corporation (Telecoms Singapore as HR Director) and a regional conglomerate (Sime Darby where he was first HR Director and later Marketing Director, responsible for both consumer (B2C) and industrial (B2B) marketing).

Andrew Chow is a passionate social media and public relations strategist, entrepreneur, speaker, and author of Social Media 247. Based in Singapore, his insights into social media strategy, public relations, and entrepreneurship have made him a choice selection of workshops and speaking engagements across Asia, His mission is to educate professionals on how to leverage on social channels for tangible results. Andrew’s career of 27 years has seen him work with an array of clients including AXA Insurance, Abbot Medical Optics, Singtel and Sony Pictures.


Andrew also has more than 280 interviews and features about him or his business since 2005 from more than 40 local and regional media. Having founded IDEAMART (S) PTE LTD in 1994, Andrew won the Spirit of Enterprise Award in 2008 and the Successful Entrepreneur Award in 2010. Graduated from Thames Valley University, Andrew is fondly called "ideasandrew" in all his social media connections.


Currently, Andrew is a Professional Member in the Asia Professional Speakers - Singapore (APSS) and also serves as its President from 2012-2013. He is the Resource Advisor for Singapore Chinese Chambers of Commerce (SCCCI). Andrew also sits on the Executive Council of the Marketing Institute of Singapore (MIS) . He is also the senior trainer for Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) and the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF).
